About the teacher in detail
Doctor of Technical Sciences (1992), professor. He graduated from Tashkent State University in 1979. He worked as an engineer, junior researcher, and senior researcher at the Institute of Cybernetics and the “Algorithm” Research Institute within the “Cybernetics” Research and Production Association (1979–1990); associate professor, department head, and vice-rector for research at Tashkent State Technical University (1990–2004); director of the UzInfocom Center, where he organized development of the national www.uz search system and the .uz domain (2004–2005); first vice-rector of TUIT (2005–2006); chief specialist in the Information-Analytical Department of the Cabinet of Ministers (2006); executive director of the Tashkent branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University (2006–2010); head of a Cabinet of Ministers information-analytical department for education, healthcare, and social protection (2010–2012); director of the Software Products Development Center under TUIT (2015–2021); laboratory head at the Research Institute for the Development of Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence (2021–2022); and adviser to the governor of Jizzakh Region on digitalization (2023–2024). Since 2025 he has headed the “Smart Systems and Internet of Things” Laboratory at the institute. R. Khamdamov is regarded as a successor to the Riga scientific school in Latvia led by Leonard A. Rastrigin. He created a productive scientific school in optimal control, image recognition, artificial intelligence, and neural networks. He is the author of more than 280 scientific articles, 5 monographs, more than 25 study guides, and more than 20 software certificates, and trained 2 Doctors of Science and 5 PhD researchers in technical sciences. In 2017 he received the first-class “Konchilik Shuhrati” badge, and in 2025 he was awarded the title of honorary citizen of Óbuda University in Hungary.
