About the teacher in detail
Doctor of Technical Sciences (2020), professor. He graduated from Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute in 1971 with a specialization as a mathematics teacher. He began his career in education, but his interest in cybernetics led him to the Institute of Cybernetics of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. From 1975 he worked there as a trainee researcher, engineer, junior researcher, senior researcher, and leading researcher. In 2021–2024 he was a chief researcher and project leader in the “Biometric Systems” Laboratory of the Research Institute for the Development of Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence. Since 2024 he has been professor at the Department of Television and Media Technologies of TUIT. In 1990 he defended a Candidate of Sciences dissertation on algorithms for recognizing objects represented by different types of features and their application to control and forecasting problems. In 2020 he defended his doctoral dissertation on methods for synthesizing recognition operators in high-dimensional feature spaces. N. Mirzayev’s research includes object-recognition algorithms, identification of seismic sources, modeling of economic processes, geological forecasting, and diagnostics of gas-pipeline corrosion. He developed biometric personal-identification algorithms based on face, ear, signature, and voice, as well as high-dimensional recognition algorithms based on statistical, heuristic, radial, and threshold functions. He is the author of more than 200 scientific works, 2 monographs, 3 study guides, 1 textbook, and more than 10 software certificates. He publishes in reputable Uzbek and international scientific journals, is a member of IEEE and IAENG, and has supervised the training of 2 PhD researchers in technical sciences.
