Researchers at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden have developed a silk-fiber thread that can monitor people’s health and measure blood pressure, as well as conduct electricity.
“The thread we developed conducts electricity safely and adapts to a variety of environments, so it can be widely used in our daily lives,” said researcher Mariavittoria Craighero.
For reference, this silk-fiber thread is currently produced only under laboratory conditions. The research group also aims to expand the possibilities in the textile and medical fields through this approach.
