A device for monitoring human health has been developed

Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University have developed a health-monitoring device powered by human body temperature.

According to the journal “Advanced Functional Materials,” the device consists of semiconductors integrated with a flexible, stretchable, wearable thermoelectric energy generator, as well as rubber made using a 3D printer.

According to researcher Mason Zadan, the device is powered solely by body heat and can monitor glucose levels in people, reduce tremors, and monitor heart activity.

The research is also being conducted in collaboration with Arieca Inc, Washington, and Seoul National University.
