A Republican Scientific and Technical Conference Dedicated to the 90th Anniversary of Academician Mirzayan Kamilov Was Held
The Research Institute for the Development of Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence hosted the Republican Scientific and Technical Conference “Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence in Management: Present and Future”, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Mirzayan Mirzaaxmedovich Kamilov, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, and recipient of the “Mehnat Shuhrati” Order.
🆙 The event brought together representatives of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, academicians with many years of productive work in cybernetics and artificial intelligence, public figures, distinguished professors and scientists, industry specialists, and young researchers.
🟢 First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies Oleg Pekos opened the event and warmly congratulated Academician Mirzayan Kamilov on his 90th anniversary. In his speech, he described the scientist’s longstanding research career as an example of persistent inquiry, innovative thinking, and scientific courage. He also highlighted the importance of applying scientific achievements across economic sectors amid globalization and digital transformation, strengthening cooperation between research institutions, higher education institutions, and the production sector, and supporting the research of talented young people.
🗣️ Institute Director Anvarxodja Kadirov congratulated Academician Mirzayan Kamilov on his milestone anniversary and conveyed his sincere wishes. He also read out a congratulatory message from Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov. The academician received commemorative gifts from the ministry’s leadership.
🖥 Speakers reflected on Academician Mirzayan Kamilov’s fundamental research in pattern recognition and artificial intelligence, his scientific school, and his role in organizing scientific work. They emphasized that his extensive scientific legacy and contributions to mentoring researchers provide an important example for the younger generation.
✅ The plenary session also featured presentations titled “Academician M.M. Kamilov — Scientist and Mentor: Scientific Legacy and Pedagogical Calling” and “A Topological Approach to Constructing Compact Case Bases for Metric Classification”.
📚 The conference discussions were organized into four sections:
🔹 Theoretical and applied problems of artificial intelligence;
🔹 Machine learning and intelligent data processing;
🔹 Modelling and algorithm development in management;
🔹 Practical applications of digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
🔍 The section sessions featured presentations on current issues in face and speech pattern recognition, text and speech processing for the Uzbek and Karakalpak languages, medical image segmentation, quantum algorithms and post-quantum cryptography, mathematical modelling of atmospheric and groundwater processes, optimal control of agricultural machinery, and digital infrastructure security.
