Tomorrow, an international forum on the development of artificial intelligence technologies in CIS countries will open in Samarkand

Digital transformation is advancing rapidly around the world, and artificial intelligence technologies are widely used in the economy, science, medicine, education, transport, agriculture and many other fields. In today’s world, artificial intelligence is becoming not only a key driver of progress, but also one of the principal tools for ensuring countries’ competitiveness and sustainable development.

In this context, developing artificial intelligence, introducing it across national sectors and industries, strengthening international cooperation, and keeping pace with global trends are of strategic importance to every country.

These priority goals and objectives are set out in Resolution No. PQ–358 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 14 October 2024, “On Approving the Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence Technologies Until 2030,” and Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 425 dated 10 July 2025, “On Measures to Implement Priority Projects in the Field of Artificial Intelligence Technologies in 2025-2026.” As part of the implementation of the resolution, great attention is being paid in our country to strengthening scientific, technological and international cooperation in artificial intelligence and digitalization.

In this regard, an international forum entitled “Forum on the Development of Artificial Intelligence with the Participation of Experts and Specialists from the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States” will be held on 7–8 August 2025 at the Hilton Samarqand Regency hotel in Samarkand.

More than 50 leading specialists, experts, industry leaders and representatives of IT companies from the CIS member states—Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan—are expected to participate in the forum.

The event is being held with the support of IT-Park, Artificial Intelligence Journey (AIJ), Huawei, Yandex and DataVolt.

The forum program includes:
• Panel discussions on current issues and new trends in artificial intelligence;
• Business meetings and the exchange of experience and innovative solutions;
• Cultural events and excursions to explore Samarkand’s rich history and cultural heritage.

This international forum is an important platform for deepening cooperation among CIS countries, coordinating common policies and standards, jointly developing innovative solutions, and identifying new scientific and technological prospects.

At the conclusion of the forum, a number of agreements are expected to be signed between the countries on sharing experience, implementing joint projects, and coordinating policies in the field of artificial intelligence.
